Lesson 16: "Offer Up Thy Sacraments Upon My Holy Day"       August 19, 2012

The Sabbath day is a holy day that we should spend worshipping and participating in the covenant of the Sacrament.  We are blessed  to live so close to our church building and in a community where we can come to church on Sunday, and be a part of the learning and worshipping that happens on Sunday.  We should be reverent during Sacrament, and find ways that work for us individually, to stay in tune with the Spirit, and to remember why we take the Sacrament.  For those of us with children, we should make sure we teach them the importance of taking the sacrament, and taking it worthily.

We should also, as families and individuals, find ways that we can be together as a family and worship our Heavenly Father and our Savior every Sunday.  The Lord blessed us with the Sabbath day, so that we might rest from the cares of the world, and so that we might worship and learn about his gospel.  It might help to prepare the night before or the morning before Sacrament meeting, to really ponder and pray, and think about why we take the Sacrament, and to be better prepared to receive the blessings that come with renewing our covenants each week in church.  Remember to keep the Sabbath day holy, and we will be blessed for it.

Lesson 15: Advancing the Work of the Lord      August 12, 2012

Be active in advancing the work of the Lord.  Each of us are in a different season of life...raising kids, single, empty nesters.  But each of us can do things to serve and bring about his gospel.  Missionary work, temple work, raising righteous children who love the Lord.  Embrace the season of your life, and take advantage of the opportunities the Lord gives us to serve within the home, or outside of the home.

Utilize technology to do family history and to spread the gospel.  We can all be examples to our ward family, and to those around us.  Be active in sharing the Lord's gospel, and we will be blessed.

Thank you sisters for doing your visiting teaching in July.  We had 100 of our 120 sisters visited.  I found a quote by Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin that I would like to share with you.  "Most of us don't mind doing what we ought to do when it doesn't interfere with what we want to do, but it takes discipline and maturity to do what we ought to do whether we want to or not."  Thank you for your commitment to Relief Society and to the Lord.

Good morning sisters!  I hope everyone has had a wonderful week. With me still being out of town, I thought we could do another park day because that seems to be a fun and easy activity:).  Let's meet on Friday, at 10:00am at the park off of Mille Lacs Dr. and Indigo Sky Way. It is a great sand park with a lot of fun slides and toys.
Have a great day!
